Hire a Wedding Planner/Coordinator

A wedding planner can take a huge weight off your shoulders by helping you throughly organize your thoughts and vision leading up to your wedding day. Decision fatigue is real and when you're planning a wedding, there are lots of decisions to make. If you want to fully be present and not sweat the little details or logistics, this is something I would highly consider.

Trust your Vendors

Professionals are Professionals for a reason! Allow them to have the creative freedom in what they do best and save the time and DIY's another time. As tempting as it is to hire a family friend in place of industry experts, I would limit their involvement on your wedding day. Hiring a full vendor you wholeheartedly trust will relieve a lot of stress and anxiety.

Leave Buffer Time

There is nothing more stressful than running around place to place and being late on your wedding day. My advice is to leave buffer time, at least 10-15 mins for each event. From my experience buffer time is also the best time to get those in-between-moments. Wedding days go by a lot faster than people realize, and you want to be present for every moment!

If you want to spend 5-10 mins with your partner alone after the first look, please DO IT! Remember, this is your wedding day, and you should do it the way you want.

Moments with Intention

I talked about this in my last point briefly, but setting aside alone time with you and your partner. Each section of your day, both big and small, should be cherished and celebrated. Having some intentional moments in your timeline make all the difference.

A few suggestions:

  • Write each other a card/letter for you to read while getting ready
  • Exchange gifts with your partner or parents
  • Do a first look with bridesmaids or immediate family
  • First look, first touch, private vows before your ceremony
  • Be intentional with meal-time! Spend at least 10 mins with each other during dinner uninterrupted.
  • Private first dance

** TIP: Please remember to eat and drink water throughout the day! **

This is Your Day

Inevitably, unexpected things will happen on your wedding day whether it's a traffic delay, a forgotten bowtie or a bridesmaid wardrobe malfunction, etc. Whatever the case may be, at the end of the day you are there to celebrate your love and that is ALL that matters! Don't sweat the small stuff.
